《数学物理学报》是我国数学物理学界委托原中国科学院首批学部委员（院士）、老一辈的著名数学家李国平教授于1981年4月创办的，旨在以刊登数学与物理科学的边缘学科中具有创造性的代表学科水平的科研成果为主的综合性学术刊物。由中国科学院武汉物理与数学研究所主办。本刊现分A、B两辑出版，国内外公开发行: A辑（中文版）为中文版双月刊，由科学出版社出版；B辑（英文版）为英文版双月刊，由科学出版社和Elsevier Limited 出版，每年共出版十二期。A、B辑内容不重复。Elsevier负责全球范围内本刊B辑的电子版的推销、出版和发行。读者对象为国内外本学科领域的专家、科技工作者和高等院校师生。
