本专业就业面较窄,毕业生可在与此专业相关的高等院校、科研部门、企事业单位、行政管理部门从事科学研究、教学、应用开发和管理工作。光电信息科学与工程专业就业前景主要在光电信息工程、光电子工程、光通信、计算机、等领域从事科学研究、相关产品设计与制造、科技开发与应用、运行管理等工作。光电信息技术是由光学、光电子、微电子等技术结合而成的多学科综合技术,涉及光信息的辐射、传输、探测以及光电信息的转换、存储、处理与显示等众多的内容。光电信息科学与工程专业需要掌握的能力1、掌握数学、物理等方面的基本理论和基本知识;2、掌握光电信息科学与工程的基本知识和基本实验技能;3、了解相近专业的一般原理和知识;4、熟悉国家信息产业政策及国内外有关知识产权的法律法规;5、了解光电信息科学与工程的理论前沿、应用前景和最新发展动态,以及信息产业发展状况;6、掌握资料查询、文献检索及运用现代信息技术获取相关信息的基本方法;具有一定的实验设计,创造实验条件,归纳、整理、分析实验结果,撰写论文,参与学术交流的能力。
