区别：影响因子不同，A区的影响因子高于B区的影响因子并且A区杂志的排名在B区排名前，相比较而言A区更难发表。目前全球有数十万种学术期刊，每年发表的文献数量十分庞大且呈逐年上升趋势，但是科研论文的质量参差不齐，目前国内外都是“以刊评文”，这就需要对期刊进行分级。欧美学术界目前最有代表性的期刊分区是JCR (Journal Citation Reports) 分区，国内目前最有代表性的期刊分区是中国科学院文献情报中心发布的SCI分区。扩展资料：SCI收录农学、生物学、环境科学、工程技术、应用科学、医学与生命科学、物理学、化学、经济学等领域论文。统计科学期刊被引用情况、发表论文数量以及论文的平均被引用情况计算影响因子。影响因子的高低，在一定程度上可以反映一个期刊的影响力。   发表SCI论文数以及影响因子被认为是衡量科研工作者以及研究生、科研机构的重要指标。中国的SCI论文数以及质量都呈现逐年上升的趋势。目前国内高校期刊论文分区考核普遍采用中国科学院文献情报中心提出的SCI期刊分区方法，但是此种分类方法单纯以影响因子划分过于粗糙，应该分学科观察SCI期刊影响因子。参考资料：中国知网--中国科学院版SCI期刊分区方法的不足与改进
