失效分析（FA）是一门发展中的新兴学科，近年开始从军工向普通企业普及。它一般根据失效模式和现象，通过分析和验证，模拟重现失效的现象，找出失效的原因，挖掘出失效的机理的活动。在提高产品质量，技术开发、改进，产品修复及仲裁失效事故等方面具有很强的实际意义。其方法分为有损分析，无损分析，物理分析，化学分析等。失效分析的意义：分析机械零器件失效原因，为事故责任认定、侦破刑事犯罪案件、裁定赔偿责任、保险业务、修改产品质量标准等提供科学依据；减少和预防同类机械零器件的失效现象重复发生，保障产品质量，提高产品竞争力；为企业技术开发、技术改造提供信息，增加企业产品技术含量，从而获得更大的经济效益 。采用一定的工艺，把一个电路中所需的晶体管、电阻、电容和电感等元件及布线互连一起，制作在一小块或几小块半导体晶片或介质基片上，然后封装在一个管壳内，成为具有所需电路功能的微型结构。如材料学，工程学，物理学等等，集成电路的发展与这些相关产业密不可分，对集成电路展开失效分析相关实验分析时势必要涉及这些相关产业。实验室也可以提供非集成电路样品的微区观测，元素鉴别，样品形貌处理，断层分析等相关服务。 失效分析主要项目： 金相显微镜/体式显微镜：提供样品的显微图像观测，拍照和测量等服务，显微倍率从10倍~1000倍不等，并有明场和暗场切换功能，可根据样品实际情况和关注区域情况自由调节。
